Servinx: Appointment Management with React and Node.js

Project Overview

Servinx is an appointment management project where I designed the user experience and developed the appointment workflows using React and Node.js. My work included the user booking flow, an admin appointment management flow, and a module for marking appointments as completed.

The goal was to create a professional application that makes appointment booking and management simple. I focused on clear screens, straightforward actions, and a consistent experience across the user and admin interfaces.

My Role and Responsibilities

I worked on both the design and development of the appointment system. This included organizing the user journey, designing the interface, building the frontend with React, and implementing the supporting backend functionality with Node.js.

Working across these areas helped me connect the visual experience with the application’s functionality. Each part of the project supported the same purpose: making appointments easier to book, review, and manage.

User Experience and Interface Design

I designed the user experience around the main tasks people need to complete. The booking process needed to be easy to follow, with clear information and understandable actions at each stage.

The interface uses a clean layout to keep attention on the task at hand. I focused on readable content, consistent navigation, and clear action buttons so users could move through the appointment flow with confidence.

User Appointment Booking Flow

I developed a structured appointment booking flow that guides users through the process. The screens and interactions were connected to create a consistent journey from entering the booking flow to submitting an appointment.

React was used to build the frontend experience, while Node.js supported the backend logic behind the workflow. Together, these technologies connected the user interface with the functionality needed to handle appointments.

Admin Appointment Management

Alongside the user booking flow, I developed an appointment management flow for administrators. This provides a dedicated interface for reviewing appointments and managing their progress.

The admin experience focuses on presenting appointment information clearly. I organized the interface around the actions administrators need to perform, making it easier to understand which appointments require attention.

Mark as Completed Module

I added a module that allows administrators to mark appointments as completed. This records the finished stage of an appointment within the application and gives the admin workflow a clear completion action.

The module helps distinguish completed appointments from those that still need attention. It supports more organized appointment records and makes progress easier to follow.

Technology Stack

React

I used React to develop the frontend for the user appointment flow and admin interface. It supported the interactive screens and helped maintain a consistent experience across the application.

Node.js

I used Node.js to implement the backend functionality supporting the appointment workflows. It handled the application logic that connects user actions with appointment management functions.

Development Approach

I approached the project by organizing the appointment journey and identifying the main tasks for users and administrators. I then designed the interface and developed the frontend and backend functionality around those workflows.

The booking flow, admin management flow, and completion module were treated as connected parts of the appointment lifecycle. This helped keep the application consistent while supporting the different responsibilities of users and administrators.

Project Outcome

My work on Servinx brought together user experience design, React frontend development, and Node.js backend development. The project included a connected booking process, an organized admin appointment flow, and a clear way to mark appointments as completed.

The focus throughout was practical usability: helping users book appointments and giving administrators a straightforward way to manage them.
